BIO:

Over the past 17 years I have worked as both a freelance interpreter and within the WA Department of Education Deaf Education system as an interpreter, tutor and VET/WPL Coordinator. I have also worked with the WA Deaf community in a volunteer capacity, at events including NWDP, as a committee member of ASLIA WA, assisting with the ASLIA Interpreter Awards events and the ANC held in Perth.

I gained the most satisfaction working with students at educational risk and assisting them with future career pathways.

To maintain an even work/life balance I have always been a sewist, self-taught, relying on upcycling, recycling and using preloved fabrics and other materials to manipulate and make clothing, home and personal accessories.

My motto is “waste nothing”.
